We saw The Happy Together Tour last night.

The Cowsils, The Buckinghams, The Classics IV (now it's the Classics II), One Dog Night, The Turtle, The Archie, and Gary Puckett (no Union Gap)

I asked for a senior discount, but at 61 I was the youngest guy in the crowd. One Dog Night got a standing (with walkers) ovation !!

These old guys prove you can live a hard life, and still rock and roll. I doubt any of them are younger than 70, and they still got it.

Chuck Negron (One Dog Night) still has the voice, and is 77. Jeremiah was a bull frog...

Don't give up, rage, rage against the dying of the light...

Smile Stories behind all this

Saw the same show last year.

A lot of these guys are just keeping the music alive and a lot of them have to work.
Hard to believe but management, producers took all the money from these groups back in the day and some of these guys were under 21 signing contracts but believing in management.

Some of what happened to The Cowsills is really sad....met them last year also. Very nice in person.

If you are doing what you love and can still do it...why retire?

I'm presently not, therefore I'm here reading other peoples input.

It was the 10th Anniversary Tour, I doubt there'll be a 20th.

I had to look them up (Cowsills) after reading this. What happened that was so sad? Besides so many dying in their 50s and 60s ---one drowned in Katrina. One has been playing with the Beach Boys. I didn't realize the "Partridge Family" was based on their story.

It is sad so many of those groups got ripped off by unscrupulous management/producers. I'm glad they have a second chance in their waning years. It's amazing "old voices" can still last so well!

It used to be Three Dog Night, but I think the other guys died.

I guess it isn't as cold as it used to be: The official commentary included in the CD set Celebrate: The Three Dog Night Story, 1964–1975 states that vocalist Danny Hutton's girlfriend, actress June Fairchild (best known as the "Ajax Lady" from the Cheech and Chong movie Up In Smoke) suggested the name after reading a magazine article about indigenous Australians, in which it was explained that on cold nights they would customarily sleep in a hole in the ground while embracing a dingo, a native species of feral dog. On colder nights they would sleep with two dogs and, if the night were freezing, it was a "three dog night"

Oh yeah, it does ring a bell, at least I recognize the Dog Night part.

Read about the abuse they encountered from their own father. Very sad.
