"Sitting" is in the news. It's not good for you.

How long would you estimate you sit daily?

My watch tracks that. I try to keep it at 5 hours or less p/day. But it's usually 6-7.

What about you? How many?

8 hours work
1.5 commuting
1.5 hours in recliner posting on City Data (does feet up, laying back count?)

So, maybe 10-11 hours.

The rest is sleeping, exercising, lying down and reading, and running away from my girlfriend's husband.

Much less than when I was working. 3-4 hours commute, 8-9 hours sit on the job. Now I don’t have the 3-4 hours commute. I do puttering around in my yard and play some sports. Plus I stand up when I paint, that’s about 10-20 hours a week.

This, both parts are me.

First i try to limit it to 5 hrs a day, but usually ends up being about 7.

But it also depends on the day. I just had hip injections yesterday, so today i sat about 10-11, both vegging in front of the boobtube, and sitting in the car as we decided instead of sitting home to take a little trip out of town.

Tomorrow well be going to the fair, and assuming i can walk it, well be doing more exercising.

All depends also on whether my back, hop or kneds are acting up too. If so sometimes i can barely walk, let alone do something besides sit.

I know it's almost obsolete but I like reading newspapers. So I take frequent newspaper reading breaks throughout the day.

I bike 10 miles every other day at the gym followed by weight training and walk the dogs every day.

I probably sit less than I did while working. But yes, I do sit. A lot.
