I gave the job of vacuuming to my husband back in 2005 when he retired but he's sick of it and he'd rather be at the golf course. We're moving to a new house, one floor and all tile. It seems made for a roomba? Do you like your roomba?

I love mine, I have hardwood and carpet in the bedrooms it does a great job on both. If I use it after I vacuum the roomba always finds stuff that our dyson missed.
I don't mind using the vacuum, it only takes ten minutes or so. We had a roomba when they first came out, maybe 15 or so years ago I was not impressed, but I am sure they have improved greatly since them. If you get one, report back
Thanks everyone. It won't be until late June or July that we'll be in our house and needing a roomba so I'll post then. And I'll definitely be looking at a neato as well.
I bought a used one on craigslist when my husband was laid up for 6 weeks with an injury. I was amazed how much dirt and dust it collected. It was an older model so it didn't have a lot of the newer features and I ended up getting rid of it in a garage sale. Have seriously considered buying one of the newer models but being retired, it's hard to justify spending money on something we can easily do ourselves.
It died this morning without making it back to the docking station. But it's a big house with a lot of rooms, so that happens. I've already checked to see if it tried to go down the stairs into the home theater or felt like taking a dip in the indoor water feature. (Note to Roomba: That water is nasty. Don't try it.)
Floor consists of a couple of carpeted rooms, a lot of engineered hardwood and a ton of Saltillo tile. It deals with all of them.
You didn't ask what I've been doing today but it was this: Hacking back the umbrella plant that lives in the koi pond. I have to do that because it was completely covering the net on the surface of the pond that keeps a local heron from preying on those conspicuously-colored fish during February and March. I swear a couple of those koi are salmon-sized. The net comes off once I clear away the vegetation.
