That's been pretty much my experience as well. I just broke open a bottle of Nivea (lavender/vanilla scented) oil infused lotion and am finding it's doing a great job of keeping my skin moisturized, soft and non-flaky. And it's not greasy at all. I'll buy that again.
That sounds like a great scent! I will try it. The original stuff in the blue bottle smells nice enough, but vanilla and lavender, mmmmm.
There are various skincare products in the market for old age people. but I suggest using something like homemade or natural. For hair, you can use coconut oil and for face moisturizer, you can almond oil.
Although I am diabetic, one doesn't need to be to use it.
A little goes a long way, if spread around and thoroughly rubbed in.
In just one or two days you see a remarkable difference.
I have used the Walmart clone with success. However the Gold Bond for diabetics seems to work a bit better.
My feet, particularly, get very dry during the home heating season, as well as other areas.
Spouse (4 yrs my senior) has dry skin issues in winter also, and we've tried many brands, but spouse likes the GOLD BOND FOR DIABETICS the best.
This is an older thread, but bears updating as we head in to winter.
CeraVe products are excellent. I had a terrible problem with dry skin and started using the CeraVe hydrating facial wash and their moisturizer and no more problems.
Nivea is still my top pick for overall dry skin treatment.
For cracking fingertips and dry skin on hands that do a lot of chores or other hand-intensive activity, try O’Keefe’s cream “for hardworking hands”, in the bright green tubes or tubs. A little bit in the right places really helps; a little bit goes a long way. Walmart, hardware stores, general stores in small towns, and probably a lot of other stores sell it.
Costco only carries the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. If you want any other products (or are not a Costco/Sam's member), I suggest signing up for the coupons at CVS (email or through the app). They are forever sending me 40% off coupons, and I grab the various CeraVe items I use with them.
