My 15-year old's SSI is being reduced starting September 1st because of my monthly income of $1,000 being too much for myself & three children.

As the OP says they are in Denmark, normally they should contact the US Embassy in Denmark for assistance. However the website for the Embassy in Denmark refers you to the one in Norway for its SSA Federal Benefits Unit (FBU)

Your husband's income doesn't figure into it? I guess I don't understand how it works.

I don't think that this case involves SSI because SSI benefits stop 30 days after you leave the US and don't start again until you return.

They are withholding "overpaid social security benefits". I have been receiving benefits since 1967! The cuts are very large.

I am told to contact the Inspector General's Fraud Hotline, if I have questions. Fraud?

What's going on? Has anyone else received any of these letters.

Phone is always busy. However, I did contact my local SS Office in Oslo Norway through which I do SS business. They think it is due to a change in benefits that I receive from Denmark, and they will check further, as they think the reduction in benefits is too large. That sounds right.

I've gotten 2 letters (2010 and 2018) regarding the review of my disability and the forms I as well as my doctor needed to fill out. Sent them back what they requested and within 2 weeks got a reply that said "we sent you a letter telling you that we were going to review your disability case. However, we do not need to review your case at this time. We will keep any information that you have given us."

I'm one of those people that gets back to the IRS or Social Security office likity split when asked. I can dawdle but not with them.
I am not disabled, and I have always filed status changes through the SS office in Oslo, since I came to Denmark in 1996.

Yes, in some cases. It's complicated.

How did you work while on disability? You posted you retired in your 70s....
I was never disabled. I worked in the US from the age of 21-53, before I moved to Denmark. The US does not have a reciprocal agreement with Denmark regarding SS, so none of that work qualified for US SS benefits.
