As a life-long tree lover, I want this:

From another point of view, my late mother-in-law made it plain when she knew she was terminally ill that she wanted to be cremated, but my sister-in-law whined against it because she wanted a place to visit and remember her mother.

Finally my MIL gave up and said, "OK, you can bury me, as long as you don't put me next to your father" (who had died 20 years before).

She's in Florida, he's in New Jersey.

I have donated my body to local Medical College. They collect the body within two hours of death. At the end of one year they will return remains or you can have them dispose of it. My wife did this. Upon her death the family gathered to say goodby then we called the school to remove her body.

They have a service every year for those that donated the prior year. They have a Memorial Garden you can visit for some solitude.

As I said, I will be doing the same.
