Are their hormone levels really that high at their ages? I mean, my hormone levels started calming down some in my 30s. I'm wondering, do some of these old guys take Viagra?

At first I laughed like everyone else. It does sound funny!

Yes, they do take Viagra if they don't have conflicting medications on their menu. Sometimes they take them anyway, as did my ex with the result of a trip to the ER when his blood pressure dropped so low he passed out on the bathroom floor. I live in a Del Webb and it's common knowledge that Viagra and its relatives are very popular.

Then I started remembering what went on with him in his late 60's. He became obsessed with "raising the dead". Any time, any place that he thought he could get away with it - even in restaurants under the table. I found him in the park near my house, in his car, having a one-man party. He broke the driver's seat of his new SUV attempting to have relations with it. He broke two desk chairs at home. It took me awhile to figure out what all the broken seating was about. Until I walked onto the scene at a critical moment.

In the end it turned out that he had frontotemporal dementia and the obsession was part of it. There were many more signs and symptoms and I don't mean to imply that all older men are heading down that path if they still have a libido. Just pointing out that things aren't always so clear cut.

You mean just like young people do? The shame.

Old doesn’t mean dead.

Someday you and your daughter can look forward to becoming those old gross people

This is hilarious, except for the dementia part. Time to take away the prescription candy!

A health professional told me that a patient had come in pregnant...at age 50-something. She probably thought it couldn’t happen to her at that age, though I gotta wonder if she didn’t realize the connection between having periods and being fertile?

Some news articles have highlighted rising rates of STD among the elderly since Viagra became popular.

And here we thought control over impulses improved with age.

Near 80 my hormone levels have calmed down, now only twice weekly. I hate to think of the dreaded ’90s, that may be the time for Viagra.
