We recently bought a 2019 Subaru Forester. Primary considerations were the safety features, as we do a lot of highway driving, and room for our two large dogs.

We are very pleased with it and get great mileage. 35.8 MPG on a recent trip.

+1 for Subaru Outback.
We're still driving our 2015 model and plan to keep it at least a couple more years; previously we had an 2011 model that we drove 4 years.

Not a Prius! The visibility is bad, read the reviews. I can't see people waiting on the corner to cross sometimes. You have to stop way before the stop line.

I love Tahoe. I'm tall so I need the extra leg and headroom. They're easy for me to get in and out of, and I feel safe in one. My next Tahoe I'm going to upgrade with more safety features. My wife insists

I'm sixty like the OP and my favorite is a Ford F150 pickup truck. Even better if it is 4WD. Add that to the list!
