Bernard and the Genie. It's a Christmas movie but not sappy or religious. It's hilarious. Lenny Henry is the genie. It has a happy ending.

Yesterday was my favourite movie of this year, and made me positively giddy with endorphins! I couldn't stop smiling for days.

Well, I just watched "Waking Ned Devine" which more than one person recommended, and I thought it was excellent! I will also add my vote for anyone who likes Irish culture at all, good comedy, and beautiful scenery and music. In fact, I am going to try and find a DVD of it to buy!

Thanks!

I just read someone else's post about accents and thought of Waking Ned Devine. Glad to see you liked it, too.

Thanks for your hot take on this "unwatchable" film that was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

Just thought of others:

My Favorite Year
Stardust

The funny thing, both of these have the late great Peter O'Toole-just like Creator that I recommended in my last post on this subject. I do love Peter O'Toole.
