Go ahead and major in French. While you're in college, you'll figure out what to do with it besides the teaching job you don't want.

Don't turn down offers for friendships (or more) because they don't seem "cool" enough. You're not that "cool", anyway.

On a similar note, embrace your nerdiness. In about ten years, nerds and geeks will be the new "cool".

I would say, "Go to school to become a vet or nurse." Study to get a career that you love and don't listen to your mother when she tells you that you can't do it. You can.

Have a patch made that says: “I love Jesus”. Make enough copies of it to sew it on the shoulder of every shirt, sweater, fleecy, and jacket you own.

What would I say to that 18-year old girl that was me?

Forget about that guy!
Put more thought into your college major, not just something you can hang with the BF
Let him chase after you
Have more faith in yourself -- don't sell yourself short!

So, this what I try to teach my kids now

I would tell me that I live in 5 year intervals, looking to live as many lives as possible with one. Looking back, nothing lasted longer than 5 years, and I was the catalyst that made it happen - for various reasons. Knowing the cycle might have changed the path.
