Smile Hmmm...

Go live with your grandparents for a year (make sure they are OK), get residency and go to Northwestern.

You can do it on your own. You can get student loans. You can get a job and go to school too.
More opportunities in the big city.

I'd tell myself to move to a big city, get a degree in art history and a job at a high end gallery, work as a stripper on the weekend, save my $$$, get a few sugar daddies, because time goes by really fast, and you'll need lots of cash to pay for the upkeep of teeth, face, body. And for heaven's sakes, don't fall in love and have babies!

I would have had to say this at 17, (By age 18 I was a caregiver for disabled parent)
  1. Don't answer the phone.
  2. Don't ever go back home (even to visit) I had left home at age 15 (encouraged to do so by my 'dearest' mother...) actually was gone by age 12 (Dairy Farm Boarding school)
  3. Get out of Dodge fast!
  4. Never look back, EVER! (Stay 'stealth' / under the radar)

Speak up. Don't let things just pass by. Say what you are thinking and ask for what you want.

Buy Microsoft & Apple. Follow your plan. Don’t worry so much, you’ll be fine.

Most 18 year olds are not mature enough, or willing, to listen to advice.

I would say, "Your boyfriend from high school will acquire a redneck college roommate who hates and fears women and is consumed with envy because you and your BF have an active sex life. Egged on by the roommate, your formerly-easygoing BF will one day assault you in public for daring to disagree with something he says. Then he will gloat to others that he `put you in your place.' That will be the end of your relationship. Dump him now. The boy who hits the girl he supposedly loves will never be a man.

"That same former boyfriend will be arrested in 40 years for possession of child pornography."
