I am so sorry to see your post. Thank you for posting his picture.

Take comfort in the knowledge you gave your best friend a warm, loving home and I believe he was thrilled to be with you. I imagine he taught you a lot and the memories you shared with him will go on forever. Take all the time you need to grieve your loss and remember all the good times you two shared together.

YIPPEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I am so enjoying reading all of your posts. Many of them are about the main reason I've been looking forward to retirement --

which I think of as "stopping to smell the roses."
Congratulations. It is such a different way of life. Enjoy your retirement.

OH, no Jim. What terrible time you are going through. My 16 year old Tucker will be so very much missed when it's his time. I feel your grief and want to say we are so very very sorry.

That's terrible. I understand your loss and it will hurt for a long, long time. Peace to you, brother.

Thank you everyone. I am still in shock and just completely lost. I had him cremated today, and my wish is for when I die to be cremated and both our ashes scattered in the mountains here. It's in my will now, and all of my family knows.

He got hurt chasing a squirrel, herniated disc in his back, just froze like he was paralyzed and in intense pain, vet gave him pills for the pain and to strengthen him, was to go back Tuesday if that didn't work for surgery.

Seemed to be doing better, last night labored breathing and while I laid next to him petting him, he looked in my eyes and took his last breath.

I don't know what to do now, he was my world. The thoughts from those here help.

jim9251: He looked in your eyes and took his last breath. He told you he loved you. What a beautiful gift.
