Gloria Penner. Local to San Diego, but one of the best reporters on PBS in San Diego. (Though some of the upcoming reporters are already seriously impressive!)

Gwen Eifill (sp?). Also PBS, but wider rangeing.

Cokie Roberts (my DH doesn't agree, but I thoroughly appreciated her analyses of the BS that goes on in Washington.

Yes. Many of these celebrities were like “friends” that were a part of our lives. A few that startled me were Whitney Houston, Princess Diana, Tim Russert, and Peter Jennings. They were regularly either in the news, on tv each night, or on the radio. I had a lot of respect for Russert and Jennings.
