I have a sailboat that sits on its mooring mostly all summer, and then it goes back to land.

The real question is how many of you actually know any 1%ers. I mean people who know your first name and who would say hi on the street and converse with you.

I know one, whose name is a household word, synonymous with the concept. But except for the sailing activities, she doesn’t act like a 1%er.

I've never been rich in money.

But I am rich in many things money cannot buy.

I find it so very sad people need to talk about how much they have and how they live. They are missing out on a lot.

I am poser rich Have a decently nice house, drive a top of the line Lexus Ls460 bought for less than half price used, also a Ferrari bought for less than half price used also. I eat most meals out although sometimes it only costs me about $3.50 so I can be pretty cheap too.

You know, this thread was bound to turn partly into a bragfest.

Where I grew up, the really rich people did not brag, and you couldn’t tell by the cars they drove.

So true. I knew a guy whose family owns a lot of real estate in Manhattan. Wears jeans all the time, drives a good but sensible automobile, and understands that he is privileged in ways that others aren't just because of his wealth. Looking at him, you would never know.

I guess when you say 1% you're talking about rich people still? Cause I know a couple of 1% biker guys. And they would stop and converse with me...
