A cruise ship? Permanently cruising around the world?

The South of France?

Tuscany, Italy?

A Caribbean island?

Siberia?

The new moon colony?

Where would you retire if you had
$500,000,000,000,000.00? And could afford anywhere?

If we had exactly what we have now, stash wise, PLUS about $1m more to buy a nice home, we would just go to Hawaii and stay there. Absolutely no need for a bunch more zeros. Currently we can afford to buy a modest home on Oahu, but would like another $1m to add to the home stash. The difference between an $800k home and a $1.8m home is a big one. I would not want to live in an $800k home on Oahu, but $1.8m would be great.

I'd retire to exactly where I am now. I love it that much.

An upscale cabin-type home on a three-acre (minimum) wooded waterfront lot on the west side of Door County, Wisconsin.

Total agreement with this post. We fell in love with the area we eventually retired to in 1980. My first job with Oregon Fish and Wildlife was Oakridge, Oregon. We said after that that if we got the chance we would come back here and we did in 2011 when we retired. both my wife and I love it.

I’m already here where I want to be. However you don’t need a lot of money to retire in Southern France as I’ve been looking to rent there a month next year. The term dirt cheap does come to mind.

If money were no object I'd keep my primary residence where it is, as I am three blocks away from my granddaughter.

But I'd also buy a condominium on Lakeshore Drive in Chicago, and travel frequently (first class) back and forth.

A place with no Harleys or modified trucks. Boomers around me are going nuts with the loud toys.

Somewhere quiet in general, without an HOA but not isolated - just a shared mindset of peace and respect for nature.
