I have been lucky enough to live near Jorma Kaukonen's Fur Peace Ranch. Now Jefferson Airplane was no Beatles but they were still a pretty big deal. Jorma used to have lunch's and dinners at his small restaurant there. (before Covid) where about 25 people would come (it was surprisingly easy to get a seat) and he would play while you ate. It costs nothing other than the price of the meal. (Pho and it was less than $10).

It's where I saw Sam Bush and it's one of the greatest places to see a performance. (just a small venue with limited seating and every seat is a great view).

We saw him on his last tour. I am not a big Paul M fan, but I will have to say that it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen (over 40+ years). He was relaxed and looked to be having a good time.

On this tour, he will be about 2 hours from us, so we are not sure if we will go. Ticketmaster is currently showing the lowest price around $175.

He is coming to my area in May. I can get advance tickets.

It opened today at 10 AM for cardholders with Amex.

I didn't get a chance - there's only 7000 seats - so I was surprised tonight when I looked some were available.

Then, I clicked on a seat and saw the price. Yikes!

Anywhere from $1150 to $5850 - I'm sure there were ones way more than that.

My husband was shocked at the $1150 but I won't pay that for the seats where they are. Just would be nice to see such an icon. I don't think I've paid over $180 for a ticket. (PS - I tried to tell him this would be a great gift but he did not take the bait) - LOL.

I mean, it's a once in a lifetime.....I know people who went to see Mick Jagger back in 2020 but it was at a huge stadium. I think it holds 80,000 but not sure. Sold out. And it rained but everyone I spoke to said it was awesome and a lot of those people were in their 40's.

Note: I posted this in this forum because most remember or would want to see Paul McCartney.
Paul McCartney just sold his Fifth Avenue, NYC apartment at a loss, he needs the money.

He is not charging those prices, the ticket resellers are. It’s a racket like a lot of other things.

Default So you are in Miami?

I think the promoters are squeezing out the last chances at being able to get these prices from our generation as we die out...and as the performers who can command these kind of prices also keep
slowly ending...The new generation is probably just not enouggh into live events as we did...unless is a festival kind of thing where they pay $400-$500 for a multi-performer event(Ultra mIAMI,ETC.)

i've got my memories for almost 50 years of concert attending...like LED ZEPPELIN in Tampa for $10 in 1977..and that considered expensive then!
Well, you know.

I remember going to see Chicago at the Orange Bowl - we sat on blankets, danced, mid 1970's, it was awesome. Then, trying to find our car 18 blocks away was fun at 1 AM. You know the area LOL.

Paul is at Hard Rock but I thought it was part of the casino in Hollywood not the big stadium.
Loved Wings also.

I can't believe I never saw the Bee Gees (favorite) or Paul. And I live in South Florida where we had some great concerts!!

That would have a cool Zeppelin concert too. We had wonderful music.

That must be a different venue! This one is boasting the intimate setting 7000 seats - Hard Rock Casino, Hollywood, FL.

If Sir Paul was appearing with John, George, and Ringo, I might consider it.

I’m sure he puts on a great show, but no show is worth that amount of money. This is just a naked money grab.

I'm retired, can afford it and enjoy going. Frankly, I look at it as the Dead Pool tours (who knows how long the artist will be around) and if I like a performer, especially one I haven't seen before, I'll pay extra. Did so with Ringo, Moody Blues, Eagles, BB King, Hall and Oates, Tony Bennett, Dylan (worst show ever, but my daughter is a fan), Buddy Guy, and others.
Until age 11, I lived in the Chicago area. Then, after moving to South Florida, I found WLS at night.
Always loved the Chicago sound, met a lot of those guys from the 1960's and always loved music!

Seeing Paul that close must have been amazing!

My husband used to have a bookkeeper who loved Paul and would do anything to see him. She had no money but somehow would scrape together something and flew here and there. She always came back stating what a great concert it was.

You've seen some good ones, that's for sure!

I saw Boz Scaggs last year; he finally made to Fort Lauderdale; it was a great venue; small and he was totally awesome. Excellent concert.

Boz has seemed unlike many others to have been able to keep his voice.
