Just wondering if any of you sell your hand made crafts at local craft fairs as a means of supplementing your retirement? I'm hoping to start my own business in retirement and use this method as a way of testing the waters. The area I'm interested in has several towns with a combined population of around 65-70,000. Although the income level isn't extremely high, there are a LOT of retired people in the area who do have descretionary income. I guess I'm wondering if I have quality hand-made items in the $35-50 range, a farmer's market/craft fair that runs weekly from early May thru October, what would a reasonable gross to expect? Anyone with experience doing this? Thanks!

My wife has a cousin who is a artist. But she makes alot of staine dglass crafts and other smaller times. She also goes to festivals and sells them ;plus she paints faces. She does thisd because she loves doing it mostly as she has two art studios in Teaxs and Louisana. But she says the many more than pays for her time.It really depends o the items but you can get a idea of whats ;waht by going to some local crafts shows and festivals.
