Post News, Those with 'rage to age' live longer.

MONTREAL, June 17 (UPI) -- Canadian and U.S. researchers say seniors who "rage" against threats to their health may survive later in life.

Carsten Wrosch of Concordia University in Montreal and Richard Schulz of the University of Pittsburgh examined the long-term health impacts of becoming actively involved in one's health in an effort to prevent further decline.

Thanks for sharing that link: it makes sense, really.

Too many people in my family have said, "Oh I don't believe in asking doctors..." and shrugged off ailments; they're all dead. I wish they'd been a bit more active in seeking help, and overcoming even the little problems...many of them led to bigger ones.

Thanks for sharing that article.

There is a definite connection between the brain and body (besides the fact that the brain is part of the body...duh!). Better phrased, a connection between health and thoughts or emotions. Some call it "the will to survive" and it has kept many alive who otherwise would not have lived. Nobody is quite sure of why some have it and some don't. Perhaps it exists with a sense that one's "mission" in life is not yet completed. Conversely, nothing seems to kill 'em off faster than sitting around doing nothing, and taking no interest in life! I'm sure we all know of folks who, seemingly in good health, passed on early because of lack of interest in living. Where there's life there's fight!
