OH!! Judy Judy Judy ! Where in NC are you going? That is my retirement choice and I wish I could go tomorrow. Are you going to a 55+ community and which one? Are you going to work or just "enjoy" life. I am currently in AZ, where the heat is relentless. Its just not the same with Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc when its so darn hot. I want 4 seasons again. Came here from chicago, 7 years ago. Have had enough!

WOW, 7 members already at "Retired Singles" social group ! I love the fact that we can post photos there and am so glad to have found others in the same social situation...... retired and single!

P.S. Yesterday I posted my NYC photo which was taken atop the WTC in 2000 and now I realize today's date 9/11. How sad is that ?

I think that I would be depressed by the monotony of weather there also. But, I hate a really cold and snowy winter so the Carolinas might be a good choice or me , too. I think I would prefer the mountainous part of NC. It looks so beautiful there.

Newbie here - Now you have 8 members
Retired four years ago with a long list of thing to do including some major projects so I'm still working just no longer employed. I'm staying put. Can't stand heat and don't mind the winters up here at all. "way upstate NY" is 10 or so miles north of Utica, NY.

Default To all RETIRED SINGLES......

It's easy to forget about the social groups cuz they are tucked away in City-Data vast outer space. There are now 32 members in the group but very few are posting anything or any photos........ it's lonely over there

C'mon...... it won't hurt to post anything; introduce yourself, say where you live, express what it's like to be retired and single

Maybe I'm just old, but I'm not too sure what the social groups are supposed to accomplish. It seems like it is just one long thread with random topics all interspersed so it is hard to follow. It is easier to follow a topic thread. Plus, I can't keep up with all the threads and areas that interest me in the forum area as it is...
