I was watching the golf tournament at Ponte Vedra yesterday and now I want to visit St. Augustine area again. NE Florida is such an attractive place. Damn shame the home owners insurance issue ruined it as a place to live for us.

When comparing two states, I got the advice to live in each one for several weeks of the worst weather season, and check out the cultural amenities at the same time as beach and golf may get old after a while if that's all there is to do. My CA sister would never be far from access to rock concerts, and another friend would not live far from museums and galleries as she is an artist. I would not be far from a theater showing Met-HD or places where I might teach classes, like in Learning in Retirement programs. Sixteen hours in a day is a long stretch to cover in a day, and who wants to sit in front of the tube at night.

We have Met-HD here in JAX (at least I think it's HD - it's shown at a local movie theater). Also places to teach classes (like at OLLI at UNF). Robyn

The Players is a 4 day ad for NE Florida . FWIW - we're members at the club where the tournament is being played. There are 2 golf courses - the Stadium Course (where the tournament is being played) - and the Valley Course (where a Nationwide event is held in the fall). We usually play the Valley Course. The Stadium Course is just too darn hard. OTOH - the Valley Course is no piece of cake starting in the late summer - when it is being made "tournament ready" for the Nationwide event. Robyn
