I'm applying this spring, my birthday is in July. The SS office isn't that far from me so I was thinking I could go there. I was wondering about applying online if I would have to bring identification in so now I'll just do the online thing, thanks!

To susancruz: I'm "alle" and I live in Manitowoc. As you can see from my earlier post I applied online and then called SS and had a phone interview. You don't need to go to the office and in fact they don't really want or need to see you. Very easy!
