It really does. I have allergies and travel a lot. I have yet to find any location anywhere in this country where I don't sneeze. I'm allergic to 3 kinds of mold. All common environmental molds. 2 thrive in moist climates, one in dry. No wonder I can't escape them.
I have also read that the common reaction of an allergic person to moving to a new place is for the first 5-6 years, you are better having gotten away from your allergens. But after that, you develop new sensitivities to something in the new place and you are right back to where you started.
So given that and my ubiquitous allergens, I stopped seeking a place where they don't bother me and base my search on other factors.
