I agree;there is a much larger chance that ytour check by mail will get loss or stolen than any seizing of bank accounts. Happens all the time with mailed checks. They can actually attach you money before the government sends it in many cases besides ;just as they can income tax retruns.

Set up a separate bank account for your social security deposit. It cannot be seized. If you cash the check, the cash can be seized.
Sec. 207. [42 U.S.C. 407] (a) The right of any person to any future payment under this title shall not be transferable or assignable, at law or in equity, and none of the moneys paid or payable or rights existing under this title shall be subject to execution, levy, attachment, garnishment, or other legal process, or to the operation of any bankruptcy or insolvency law.
