I live in Houston, have always had large short-haired dogs and have never had a problem with fleas. How are your pets getting fleas? Do your cats run loose? Do you walk your dogs through flea-infested areas?

Do we have to move to the North Pole to escape them or is there an altitude or climate in which they don't flourish?

I tried all that too, but it doesn't work all that well. The once per month stuff on the back of the neck does, tho. After using that for a while, it seems like there are very few fleas left in the yard.

Used to spray the yard. Did the trick for a couple of weeks. Then I started spraying at night so the neighbors wouldn't see me spraying their yard. Would spray the best that the hose would do. Then it did the trick for 5 or 6 weeks at a time. But they come back.

I use those three month yard treatment and it works well besides using drops form the vet. No fleaa problem as long as you get enouhg rain. Dry spells cause alot of flea problems.
