Yes, drawing the money later gives you some more flexibility. I'm probably going to hold off for awhile too. G fund is a personal choice. Certainly lower returns. But I sleep easier.

The last part of your statement is a key. Everyone has their own investor and risk temperament, and you need to factor this in when making TSP decisions. For folks who feel like you do, this was absolutely the right approach.

Nobody should ever get sick about their money.

I hear that! My wife (also CSRS retiree) has always contributed solely to the G fund. It's her money, and her choice, and I think if she had it in any of the other funds, she'd worry.
