I've been retired for 10 months. Yesterday, one of my ex-bosses called me and asked if I could weigh in on a policy question that had come up at work. There was a difference of opinion as to how to address the situation, and since I had been considered somewhat of an expert in that area, he wondered if I would give them my viewpoint.

I know a lot of people would have politely declined but I found it kind of flattering, so I agreed. Although I certainly will not be making a habit of this...unless, of course, they want to put me on retainer and start paying me for my opinions.

That's neat. I know so many people who were counting on consulting after retirement, but afterward there were no takers.

Still working on spring cleaning - yup - SPRING cleaning. (Mind over matter~~~~) Everything gets that winter grime cleaned. When spring finally hits I don't intend to spend much time inside The deal is - when I finish this, spring MUST be here.

Church & breakfast out with dh, stopped by our daughter's house for a short visit with her and her family, came home and read my book and did a little FarmVille. Quiet, relaxing day....

Catching rays on the beach at the coast near Tamarindo/Guanacaste province, Costa Rica. Perfectly clear skies, very warm with a nice breeze and the ocean is calm. I'm working up the energy to move back to the pool area since its closer to the bar . Hope all my friends and acquaintances in Europe dodged the storm damage I've been reading about. Pura vida.

Yesterday, I met a friend and her now delightful grown up son for brunch, got erroneous multiple charges on my credit card from an apparently incompetent waitress (grrr), called up another friend in the area and dropped by to visit for the rest of the afternoon and stayed for dinner. Then came home and made the cats their dinners and listened to the old time radio shows a NPR station plays on Sundays. Lovely day.

Not really having fun at the moment - still remodeling the kitchen but it'll be done soon, and when the weather gets warmer I'll be out biking or hiking.
