Well, we'll be back home the 20th. But then it won't be restful. It'll be DIY remodeling and redecorating.

But at least I won't be in an airport, on a plane, on a long road trip, or living out of a suitcase.

My daughter called last night and asked, "what did you do today"? I replied, "nothing". She then asked, "what are you going to do tomorrow"? I replied," I didn't finish todays chore.

Yesterday we drove back from Gettysburg to my sister's house in Michigan. It was a good trip. Today we are just chillin' and catching up on laundry. Sis's birthday party Sunday then going back home.

I feel frustrated as my sister could retire the end of this school year but she insists she'd be bored. I've run out of suggestions. She has no hobbies or other interests.

Gosh, it's funny how different our perspectives can be. Today's temps are predicted to go as high as 48, and that sounds almost balmy compared to what we've had for the past month or so. I actually got outside yesterday to take advantage of the mid-40's temperatures and took the dog for an hour walk for the first time since November! We have a large fenced-in back yard, but I guess she gets bored running around back there and loves to go for long walks. But "mom" hates cold weather, so we don't get out much in the winter.

This afternoon hub and I did a presentation to my sister's 4th grade class about our 2 years as volunteers in Uganda. As usual the kids were fascinated.

Got the H1N1 virus vaccination.

Getting anxious to go home and start remodeling our kitchen, getting new windows and redecorating the living room!

The last couple of days have been great - temperatures in the 50's for the first time since forever. My big goofy dog Gracie and I have been able to resume our daily walks. And Gracie is loving it! Although it really is sort of a two-edged sword, because with the above-freezing temps have come the mud, and when we're not walking I feel like I'm doing nothing but mopping the floors because of the slop she is tracking in from the back yard. But, it won't last long, as I hear it's supposed to get cold again. Sigh.

But in a week I will be in sunny and warm southwest Florida for a few days. At least I hope it's going to be sunny and warm! I hear they've gotten more than their share of cold weather, too.

I've been enjoying our balmy weather about 50 degree weather the past few days. Got out and took walks and even got my retired neighbor to go a couple of times. We agreed to help each other cut dead trees up and get them out of our yards. It has been so cold for so long, 50 feels like spring. Cleaned up the downstairs some. Decided I felt like seeing what part of the northern part of the county looked like and took a little spin to see. Been here 20 years and never did that before.

After 2 weeks now of retirement, I think I'm about ready to start in on my clean out project. I miss not having a dog. Gotta hold firm for a while until I see how things go.
