There are single, middle-aged women who love the RV lifestyle and seem to be happily full-timing. They seem to form clubs and get together sporadically or regularly - sometimes traveling on their own, sometimes in caravans, and sometimes camp for extended periods in a group. I have no personal experience but I have read the stories of several of them. I'm still toying with the idea of getting or making a class B van but I haven't done more than search the web yet.

A few years back we had a client who was 70 years old, female, single and drove the biggest RV you can drive, lol. She looked like a little troll sitting behind the wheel, but boy, could she navigate that thing into a sloping narrow driveway. LOL

I ask myself this question too - both could be losing propositions ... depending on the economy and the market. And... although prices to buy are good in Florida now .. they could be better or worse in two years.

I'd want to have something or a fallback idea for the possibility of health problems or a need/desire to stay in one place more/full-time, or a desire to feel "at home," unless the MIL suits this.
How are fractional ownerships different than timeshares? And with frac. ownership, don't you run the same issues of owning property with other people, depending on the association for financial stability to run the whole place, amenities or no?
(I got burned badly by owning a long-distance house with terrible "management", unable to find anyone else to manage it, and also owned and lived in a condo in a small building that had every kind of problem possible. Finally gave up and bought my own house, expensive, but at least I have control over it).
I continue to daydream about summers elsewhere away from humidity and have constant real estate lust that I must fight off due to the complication factor.

I think real estate is a better bet on increasing in value over time than an RV which goes down as soon as you start it up. It would have to be cash we would not miss for us to own another one. It is also hard to rent out RV's compared to a home or condo.
