that depends...
1) live under a bridge with a grocery cart for a car.
2) move in with kids
3) move in with parents (very OLD parents)
4) boondock in a National forest or BLM land
5) accept a very demeaning employment option (as MANY Worldwide are forced to do)
6) emigrate
7) 'check-out' (physically and / or mentally; I've cared for both...)
8) find a benevolent organization to host you
9) win the lottery
10) rely on obamacare

(in this order of probability)

I'm sure there are a zillion more backup plans. (I can't reveal mine (legally )

Block the entrance to an abortion clinic three times and get free room and board, medical care, gym membership, and free education from the state for the rest of your life. Beats life under a bridge.

Move to a state that has legalized medical marijuana and start a marijuana pharma business.

I actually know someone who has done that and they are living quite comfortably in retirement.

I know someone who lives near LA and claims that's his backup plan...
