Yes come to think of it the boomers did get a lot of chemicals and radiation thrown at us--routine x-rays, fluoride, vaccinations, pesticides, household chemicals, medications at every turn...the more I think about it, you're right. We're actually lucky to be alive (thoseof us who are).

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!"

Yes, right on. But between here and "there", trying to avoid healthcare costs in any way possible!

Okay ... so I retire on June 30th this year.

So ... I went down to the bike shop and got myself a brand new mountain bike (my better half already had one). It wouldn't fit in her car so I said no problem, will ride it the 4 miles home.

Forty minutes and several near misses with heart attacks, I made it home It took me most of the evening to recover

This staying young and healthy is going to be a lot harder than I thought.

Has anyone tried the old folk remedy (and newer health thing) of apple cider vinegar every day in a glass of water? I'ts supposed to help with alkalizing the body and thus helping arthritis and other ailments. I got the "real" stuff (not sure if we're allowed to cite brands here) and starting, just to see what happens. Any other info on this appreciated.
