Many of the" older" folks I talk to around town , are complaining about the heat here this summer also. If you are a Yooper , you hate anything above 80, regardless of age.

I wouldnt go to Marquette - the way Darstar is constantly selling it on every forum and opportunity, the population will bloom and it will become just another overdeveloped place.

Searching Upper Michigan, and Marquette in general led to what we have found to be the best choice to retire in the Country. Three years here and no regrets. There is a reason Marquette was voted number one by so many people a while back in a Nationwide pole..... Check it all out and see if what I say fits your lifestyle...it just might!
I agree with you. A friend of mine was looking to relocate from Columbus, Ohio when he retired last year, and was strongly considering going to the far suburbs of Chicago (he is originally from that city itself). I told him about City-Data and we went over some options based on what he and his wife want out of life. Turns out that they found a couple of places in Western Michigan were great fits, and now he is house hunting in those areas.

I guess I should be flattered.....however , you put way too much stock on my influence. Use your own mind and do some rearch, listen to what is said on these threads, use the stats ( thats what they are there for) , but last and formost , get in the car or hop the Bird, come see what its all about.
I think we still will have room for you , when the dust settles after the rush....LOL
