I always enjoy your back to the past threads and this one is especially telling. I didn't know how the Donald started, and if this is how, it speaks volumes about how the other neon chains followed suit and put Homer out of business.

I posted a thread in Food and Drink about automated scanning and no one picked up on the fact that we'd put those clerks out of work, and all the seniors and students who pack the groceries. In fact, only two people even posted.

Couple that with the thread on middle-class and other people's definition of it, and we'll all we sitting on chairs in Dingler's mall or a park-bench wondering how we got there.

In my small rural town in the mountains of East Ky. We have a secret..A mom and pop drive in..You pull into the parking lot which semi circles the small nondescript building, get out of the car , walk up tp one of two windows, stoop down and place your order. If its winter, you return to your car where it is warm and listen to the order numbers called oif as they are ready. In the summer, you stand around and talk to all your friends while you wait for your order. This little business has been there for three generations. They serve the very best "fast food" in the county. All the franchised places have not hurt them in the least.
