Do you snowbird and if so where? Anybody come to Arizona for a few months in the winter?
My parents have been snowbirds for many years and they love it. They have suggested the idea to many of their friends to leave the cold tundra of Iowa and live here in Arizona for the winter months. It doesn't take a fortune to do, many of their friends rent "park models" in retirement parks scattered around the Valley. I'd recommend this option to any retirees that are sick of shoveling snow and putting up with the cold weather.
I never knew why they call people who winter in the south "snowbirds."
I always called called Juncos snowbirds, and I see them at my bird feeder here in Northern Illinois all winter long. In fact I don't think they go much farther south than this for the winter, and in the summer, they go to Canada!
I am that kind of snowbird, or I would like to be. I prefer cold weather to warm.
I was just looking at some condo's in your area on line. My son is relocating to Glendale.........any tips?
Post a thread on the Phoenix forum, they always have some good advice to new residents. He's moving here in the summer months?? Gee, not many folks care to do that, haha!
Yup, we snowbirded last year for a month in Phoenix, doing 2 months this year and will be looking for a winter home while we're down there.
Love to golf, want to buy under $125,000. Any suggestions?
