Block Island (house, school, college)

I'm about to enter graduate school in Florida. A few years ago I visited Block Island and really loved it there. Someone I went to my undergrad school with told me Block Island sometimes has summer jobs open mostly for college students.

I've never done anything different during a summer break, and I was wondering if there were any Block Island residents on here that could tell me more about the place and what it's like to actually live there. If it's true that places have summer jobs, what kind of housing is available?

Block Island is a very beautiful place. I have never lived there, but visited many times. Several of the waitresses I met there were from Europe, and were students just here for the summer. It's my understanding that they lived in housing associated with some of the bigger inns on the island. Maybe try calling the Spring House to get some info?
