Default Relocating: Which is better?

Relocating to Providence and have found three complexes that I like.
The 903 - unfortunately no availability when I need (top choice).
Regency Plaza - great location, apartment smaller, higher price
Rising Sun Mills - great apartment, but question about safety.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Do you have to be in a complex? If you really want the "Providence experience", I'd recommend renting an apartment in a multi-family house. That's what most of Providence is like and you can get into the neighborhoods a bit more.

The other places depend on what you're looking for. The 903, though not available, is on the outskirts of downtown. I've heard it's pretty "cheap" inside, but don't know much else about it. Regency is more downtown and closer to what downtown has to offer. Rising Sun is in Olneyville. It's not unsafe, but there's not a whole lot nearby. It's still "up and coming" and has gotten a lot better over the years. The other 2 are probably safer, but I wouldn't call Rising Sun unsafe.

If you're looking to be close to stuff, I'd recommend Federal Hill and renting in one of those houses that I mentioned. I lived in a great 2br apartment a block from Atwells and a 5 minute walk to where Regency is, meaning under a 10 minute walk to pretty much anywhere downtown and anywhere on Federal Hill (Atwells and Broadway).

But if it has to be from those 3, I'd personally pick Rising Sun.

Although you may prefer Providence, I would strongly consider Cranston. There are some nice complexes around Dean Estates.

we have considered the Rising Sun Mills before.. but driving around the neighborhood made us chose a different place.
is there any particular reason why you like the 903? i like the foundry better which is close to 903 if you want to be in that particular area.

I was up in providence last month and looked at over 15 places to rent starting in June. 903 is nice ,but I did see a good bit of college kids. Regency seems to be a cookie cutter place. It reminds me of a hotel and they have quite a bit of hidden costs as I recall. I didn't stop off at rising sun due to the area I did not like. I would look at grant st mills located right near federal hill. Pearl st lofts is nice but the area is a little iffy. The promenade is by far the nicest I looked at ,but it was very pricey. Good luck
