Moving To Ri Less Then A Year, Any Suggestions
I Am Looking For A Nice Town/village-not Rural But Not A City, With Local Bar, Pizza & Stores, Etc... Somewhere Where Its Safe To Walk Down The Streets At Night By Myself, Near A River, Kind Of Town Where Everyone Knows Eachother. I Would Love To Live In Newport (but Until I Win The Powerball-not Possible), I Was Thinking Kent County, Or North/northwest Providence County. Somewhere I Can Rent An 1br Apt/duplex Around $550-$600. Close Enough For Work. Am I Asking To Much? Also Does Anyone Know If Its More Expensive On Near Bristol?? If Anybody Has Any Suggestions I Would Appreciate It!

You have to be a little more specific as to where in RI you're going to work,as far as small town feeling,Wakefield is a lot like that,as is Wickford, but the latter is probably out of your price range.Good luck!

East Greenwich is a great little town. It's built on a hill and Greenwich Bay is at the bottom of the hill.

I think you're going to have trouble with your price range
I'm not all that familiar with the rental market, but out of curiosity I went to Rhode Island Living - Finding your dream home has never been easier! and looked at the rentals available. They have it broken down by apartments in complexes, condos, and units in multifamily houses. Just eyeballing the list leads me to believe that $600 is not going to get you into areas like you are talking about, and probably not much in any especially safe area. Sorry! I'd suggest you check out the rentals and see if there's anything that appeals, then ask about the area. FWIW, I'd suggest you avoid anything on the south side of Providence or Olneyville!
