Considering a job offer in east providence.......but we really want to live rural because we keep animals, gardens, orchards etc.....Is there such a place within say 25 minute (non hell) commute of E Providence?? We have to live in RI for the job so Mass wont work.

We want as rural as possible and the ability to buy a few acres at least.

Thanks

Foster, Glocester, western Coventry (Greene, Rice City), North Smithfield on the West Bay....may be more than a 25 minute commute, but very few are "hell" commutes in RI.
Look at a map, Rte 44 runs east/west from Ct to East Providence, as does 6....west of Rte 295 will be mostly rural north of where Rte 12 crosses it.

They all might be over 25 or just north smithfield? SO traffic isn't crazy even with 95 running right through there?

It would not be an easy commute but doable. Put in your required acreage (in square ft) on RILiving.com and see what comes up and where it is. Acreage can be surprisingly inexpensive if you don't demand too much in a house. You can also put in many other criteria.

Rehoboth, MA would work pretty well, but then you would have to deal with the dual taxation problem.

Foster, Glocester, Burrillville, West Greenwich, Exeter, Richmond are quite rural. The last two will be over 25 m inutes though, but there is A LOT of land still available in RI.
