I was checking this site and noticed that there are only 6 public schools in Barrington.Does it mean the child has to keep changing schools? Barrington School District Schools, Rhode Island - RI: charter and public schools. |

Minkamink, do you have a house to sell or something....
Burrillville may be an okay community, but it practically located off the end of the earth. It is near nothing. And kids would likely be bored there. I was born about 8-10 miles east of Burrillville and we never went there. It would be quite a haul to get to Pawt and back each day. I'd scratch that suggestion. |

Actually no, I live in Burrillville and if your kids make friends which they most likely will they will be fine
And yes it may take an hour to get to Pawtucket... but Burrillville has nice homes with the most nature and scenery The Arts Fest and the school sport teams are nice If your looking for a big bussling town I wouldn't reccomend Burrillville but if you like quiet wooded towns Burrillville would be great Crime: No one is ever killed in Burrillville and we have very few thefts and crime in general Population about 16,000 Oh by the way it's not at the end of the earth It's 20 mins from a major shopping area and 15 mins to Smithfield and Woonsocket Last edited by MinkaMink25; 11-10-2007 at 09:22 AM. i spent 27 years trying to leave RI and finally did. i lived there my whole life, and i moved 2 months ago to florida. There were several reasons i wanted to leave, and i wouldn't really advise anyone to go there.
First off, living costs are so high, RI being so small tries to act like its some hugh, great place to live, it just doesnt get the fact that its small, and not L.A or N.Y, i mean they want to put an international airport there. there is one in boston. The people there have big chips on there shoulders and attitude problems. dont ask for directions, you might end up in a fight. I had such terrible anxiety living there, which went away within 2 weeks of leaving. But honestly, if you HAVE to move there, i would have to say western cranston is a very nice area. there are cheaper apts. on oaklawn ave. and surrounding area's that will still have your children in good public schools. also, just about every major highway in RI ( 95, 295, 10, 37 ect) travels through atleast some part of cranston, so getting around isn't bad. I hope this helped, and i hope i didnt come off to strong, just me, and everyone i know have either left, or want to leave RI |

Hasbro is a good company to work with. They have gotten smaller in the state over the yrs. I remember seeing th BIG building from McCoy Stadium, growing up (watching baseball games there). The last thing I've heard is that Pawtucket is most affordable place to live in RI.
If you find that you'd be interested in making some extra money, part time, with flexible hours... I work with Primerica Financial, in No. Providence (Bally's Plaza, and yes North). What type of work do you do? I just finished my time with Staples in Marlboro Mass, this morning. They offshored 60+ jobs to India. everyone else has another week. Good luck to you, and if you have any questions (where to eat; go; what to see..
