I just posted in the "migration" thread that I hope the state does bounce back. It would help the country as a whole. Nobody wants to be known as the worst of anything and people still like it here. Hopefully the quality of life improves.. now if they only could put a retractable dome over the whole state, that would be great
More good news....
the state just bought Rocky Point for a park and RWU is expanding downtown. Truthfully, there are many more items which are never discussed which will continue to contribute to quality of life issues.
We have a ways to go- no lie- and a retractable dome would be kind of nice...
If you ever come back Ryan... just remember not to locate in West Warwick !!!

Actually, I'm lucky.. we live on the border of Warwick on the edge of town. Condo complex that is very safe and only 8 years old. We LOVE our condo and it's convenient to my work in Warwick. My wife's in college nearby as well, so it's good We'll be inheriting a house on New London Turnpike that has been completely redone. But yes, I hear what you're saying. I wouldn't live in Arctic! lol

Actually, there are no houses on New London Turnpike, which is only that stretch from
Oaklawn to Reservoir Ave.. so you must mean Providence St which extends to Toll Gate
Rd before it changes name back to New London Avenue, (no longer Turnpike).

In West Warwick, not Warwick. It may be an avenue, nbd.. it's a road with a house that I get..
I hope so, I have a few friends who are long term unemployed and/or underemployed... I know there are lots more folks in similar situations.
I know that folks are holding off on replacing cars because of the state car tax, too....but an economiic pick up would be fantastic. I hope it's not a flash in the pan.
I hope this is true and long lasting for RI. The state, and Porvidence specifically, has so much to offer, and I have a soft spot for it. I went to college here, and if it was not for the lack of job, I would have stayed. Now we live right outside Boston, and during the summer, one of our favorite thing to do is to drive down to College Hill in the convertable with the roof down, have an awesome brunch at Paragon, then walk around Brown campus and Thayer street. The East Side is so beautiful, and for me , very nostalgic. Maybe we can retire there. I always tell my better half that we have to spend lots of money while we're there.
