Just came back from a short visit to Providence. Providence is a beautiful, old city. It has come a very long way from what it used to be for sure. However, what's up with the ubiquitous graffiti throughout the city. I mean I saw it everywhere! What is being to done to clean it up and discourage the graffiti "artist" from defacing the city?
Why are the city and state officials allowing this to go on, seemingly unchecked? I don't understand how such an up-and-coming beautiful, but small city, cannot get this under control.
I guess it's all relative. An acquaintance just visited from Los Angeles and mentioned how LA has graffiti - EVERYWHERE. He even remarked how little graffiti Boston/Providence had in comparison.
To us locals, though, it does seem like Providence has a lot of graffiti, especially after they paint those retaining walls along 95. It seems like the next day after they're painted, they are vandalized again.
