Long story short.. my husband works in Providence. We'd like to buy a house in 3-5 years and want to sock away as much money as possible. We've lived in Warwick for the past year and absolutely hate it. The airport is incredibly loud and much of it is run down.
We want to live within an hour commute of Providence in a place where we can rent a 3 BR home for under $1600/month. Is this possible? If so, where? Do we need to look at CT and MA? Safety is a priority as we have three small kids. A place where we can find a home with a yard would be a huge perk. I figure we'll end up somewhere rural as it tends to be cheaper than near larger cities but I know nothing about those areas.
