“Rhode Island state and local debt is the best performer among all 50 U.S. states this year through Sept. 3,” Bloomberg News’s Annie Linskey reports. “The state’s securities fell about 2.6%, compared with a drop of 5.2% for the $3.7 trillion U.S. municipal market. Rhode Island also beat Maine, which has the same credit rating and dropped 5.2%.”
