Relocation?
My wife and I currently live in the Dallas Texas area and since our kids have now left home, we wanted to get back to the East Coast. We both enjoy the Providence area and have been trying relocate there for the last couple of years. I have over 30 years of credit management experience in a manufacturing environment and have tried to get assistance from several recruiters in the area. Unfortunately, I can't even get a recruiter to return my telephone calls or answer my emails.
Does any one have a reliable recruiter that they have successfully used in Rhode Island?

Don't know any head hunters. But have you Googled "NACN-RISEN" (i.e. National Association of Credit Managers-Rhode Island/Southeastern New England division)? This could give you the names of some people in the field in the area that you might call for leads.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have been a member of NACM for many years. Therefore, I did in fact call them and they could only recommend Job boards or their recruiter partner, who I have never had much success with on either side of the desk.

I have been away for 10 years and never used a recruiter when I was in RI as I was self employed...but here is a link to tell you who they are and where they are, by city and town. Then if folks start recommending particular recruiters you will be able to research them online somewhat.
You would more than likely be better off contacting larger businesses in RI that hire people who do what you do and make a direct contact. Can't hurt. Truth be told I never put much stock in recruiters as none of my friends, mostly professional, ever had good luck with them. Try the RI Dept of Employment as they have leads and don't charge a fee like recruiters.
Good luck in your search

Thanks Mikey_NC. Quite honestly I haven’t received a recommendation from any one about any recruiters. Over the years I have not had success with them from either side of the desk. I do appreciate the suggestion for using the RI Dept of Emp. I will just keep trying.

As a former Rhode Islander one of the ways I stay on top of RI news and happenings is via this link:
projo.com Rhode Island news | projo.com | The Providence Journal
This a link to The Providence Journal/Evening Bulletin (online edition), RI's largest newspaper. You will have to register to read some of the content and interact, but it is totally free...and you can read the classifieds online. Maybe this will ease your anxiety and give you more hope
