A prior poll showed Taveras down by six, so this is good news for the Providence Mayor. As for Gina "Enron" Raimondo, I guess she'll have to go back to her boys on Wall Street to raise some more cash for her faltering campaign.

b) The last poll I saw was a Taveras campaign poll that had him up in the teens. Methinks the entrance of Pell has not been good for him...
Taveres is not bad and has done some good things but nothing especially significant. He and his staff got raises this year of course and the city hall staff has gone from Italian to Hispanic.
This will be one of those rare instances when you and I will disagree. I have not decided my vote yet, but Taveras is a worthy contender - he certainly course-corrected the disgraceful financial mess the Capital was in before.

OK, now we're getting absurd. Will Gina be winning an award from Code Pink anytime soon? Probably not. But she is pro gun control. She is pro green energy. She is adamantly in favor of same sex marriage. She is pro-choice. Now you can easily make her out to be a Blue Dog fiscal "conservative." But comparing her to Rand Paul??? That's just not fair!

Yes, she's pro-green: as in Mega Millions from Wall Street. She's effectively using a $1 billion in RI retirement investments as calling card for campaign contributions from hedge fund investors. There's something very wrong about that.
And, okay, maybe she's not Rand Paul, but she's certainly no Senator Warren.
