Has anyone on this forum moved to RI...
...with no place to stay? Does anyone know a motel or a place to stay for a reasonable price, respectable of course, outside of Providence area, for about a month, while looking for a place to stay? Flying up to check things out gets expensive after a while. Please, I would appreciate any help!!

Sorry but we moved FROM RI to NC where you are, but we still know a lot about the place as that was home for many, many years. Try this link for hotels/motels as there are a few extended stay motels up there outside of The Providence area:
http://hotel-guides.us/rhode-island/warwick-ri-hotels.html: (broken link)). Also do a google search for the Greater Providence area as RI is a tiny state and everything is connected. If you need more assistance please let me know.

No prob sue.... ...there are many folks in here who love to help as it is a satisfying thing to do for someone else.
When you get to Rhody be sure to eat the NY System hot dogs at The Weiner Man (in Cranston and Olneyville) along with a glass of milk with Autocrat coffee syrup mixed in...then head to any Italian bakery for a few slices of made to be cold pizza...and think of me when you do that...lol .
If you want info that you don't want posted send me a direct message

Are you looking for a residential-style extended stay hotel? Or would a run-of-the-mill motel do? Check out Seekonk, MA, just across the state line. There are a number of motels there, lots of big box retail/chain food in the area, and easy access to I-195. Of course, if you'll be travelling to the Warwick/South County area, Seekonk's probably not a good choice. But Seekonk's pretty close to downtown Providence, if that's your target.

...my sister & mother just got back from MA yesterday, they brought me back a loaf of bread from a bakery, and it is soooo good. Now I'm craving a sandwich & I have to wait 6-1/2mths for a real one - not sure I'll make it! I will try the hot dogs & definatly the cold pizza you said & and think of you too, thanks for your help & thanks for making me hungry!

Seekonk is not shady, nor is the commercial area remarkable; its just a generic suburban area--safe, functional, predictable, and otherwise unremarkable.
