GoLocalProv | EXCLUSIVE: Citizens Bank Looking at Superman Building for Corporate Headquarters

"
The 2014 state rankings by Forbes has just been released and Rhode Island moved up two spots from #48 in 2013 to #46 in 2014.
What does Forbes say about RI's business environment"
After Michigan and Illinois, Rhode Island has experienced the third worst net migration out of its state in the country over the past five years. With a recent unemployment rate of 7.6%—lower than only Georgia and Mississippi—residents are leaving the state in search of jobs. Rhode Island has been stuck in the bottom five overall for six straight years. One plus: labor costs are 5% below the national average, which stands out in the expensive Northeast."

So is RI doing something right; or are Mississippi, Maine, Alabama and West Virginia just doing that much worse?

I love how you cheer Rhode Island on! And to think, you don't even live here!

Why don't you go rag on Mississippi? I mean, what did Little Rhody ever do to you? C'mon now, be an equal opportunity hater.

Raggin on it??? Rising up 2 ranks for 2nd year in a row doesn't sound too shabby to me now does it? How about showing some pride in your newly adopted home.

Now can we like, you know, get back on topic now?

I thought you moved or were looking to move to Maine. Does the fact that it's "worse than RI" deter you? These rankings garner a lot of clicks but that may be all.

Forbes is one of the only reliable sources of rankings online and in print.

For RI to be stuck at the bottom of the rankings for SIX years is pathetic.

Some people just can't handle the facts; it's called denial.

Where in this thread did ANYONE deny the data from Forbes? Where? What you're doing is "making stuff up."

You mean he's officially a "Mainiac?" Works for me! Though, Maine ain't all swank like Seekonk, people ain't styling in Maine like they be styling in downtown "The Big Konk,", save for the considerable (relatively speaking) gay community in and around Portland. And it's probably the poorest, most dependent state for federal welfare in New England, but... whatever makes one happy!

It's called topic for conversation, what one of C-D's purposes is; right?
