Default pets

Hello,
I have lived in RI for quite some time on and off. We had a lot less trouble finding an apartment that would accept pets this last time we moved here. Before you give up your dogs, take a good look around!
You may have to pay a pet fee, but it's better than giving them up.
My family lives in a complex in East Providence and it actually shocks me the size dogs that people have here. We have people living here with a French Mastiff, two cats, and two birds!
I also have a friend who found a private landlord in Providence who allowed her to have a dog in the apartment.

So, you may have to look around a little... and you may have to pay a little more... but you can definitely find a place that takes pets! Don't give up hope! Check out the adds in projo.com to start.

Oh I would never give up any animal over an apartment or home. I volunteer the the Seattle Animal shelter here and if it's at least one thing I've learned, they are a part of the family. That's like giving a child up because you want a fancy swank pad. Not thanks.
But I'm glad to hear it was easier to find a place that excepted pets this time around.

Trisha, I am not looking for a swanky pad at all. I have researched lots and maybe you can help find me a home which will accept my doggies. The bullies, esp. Tank is 60lbs, 8 months and totally gorgeous. Marnie is 52 lbs, same age, and mom is 58lbs. I live in an apt.and I cannot be selfish. I want them to be happy. To have a home where they could run and play. I take better care of them then myself, they get the best nutritional care, even cook for them. I love them very much. Rents have increased here immensely I am unable to keep up any longer. I need an affordable home,(doggie friendly) and employment. This is a dilemna for me and I assure you that I did not sell Marnie (3 offers) felt they would not provide the forever loving home required. Thank you for responding that was my intention. Animal lover to same.

Anika

I don't know what kind of rent range you are looking for but you can give a call to the folks at Four Seasons in East Providence. I know that they accept pets (even LARGE ones). There are parks and walks nearby and people have taken to using the old tennis court as a kind of run for leash-free playing.
