For those that argue against public money bring used for private sports teams, RI has already done so. The state spent some 100 million on the purchase of the Dunkin Donuts Center ten years ago. No private money was invested even though it greatly benefitted the Providence Bruins and the PC Friars. The new PawSox stadium proposal is less money with more than half coming from the PawSox. It is a far better deal for RI taxpayers than the DDC was.

RI Institution lol? Who gives a ****? The only thing that matters is if they are going to bring money in for the state or cost the state money. Period. End of story. Business is business.

The Pawsox are a Rhode Island institution.
The Paw Sox were a Rhode Island institution under *Mondor*.

So play the wrong note once, it's a mistake; play it over and over, it's jazz? Nah.

Speak for yourself, Mr. Workin 24/7. A lot of people care, and whether or not the state makes money is of no concern to them.

I'm a home owner, business owner and tax payer. I care. Like everything else in this mickey mouse state, the bill will get passed off to the taxpayers when the govt bites off more then it can chew. How about making a deal where the state actually makes more money then they thought instead of getting worked at the negotiating table like they always do. Taxpayers and especially property owners will foot the bill like always. Par for the course in this state.

Referring to the Dunkin Donuts Center purchase being compared to the current Pawsox situation.

You don't care about the Pawsox being a Rhode Island institution, and that's what my post was about.
