I still say you should look at Western Cranston. It's right near Johnston and it's a nice quiet countrified area with plenty of nice houses in the price range you're looking for. Quite a shorter commute to Johnston, and not too far from Providence if you want a night on the town.

The other areas suggested are good too, but not if you want a shorter commute while still being able to live in a pretty isolated and quiet area. Also if being near the city (while, again, still being in a nice quiet area) matters to you, then North Kingstown is probably not for you.

I guess it depends on your priorities.

Residential Properties is considered one of the top firms in the state. You can find them at Rhode Island Real Estate

NOTE: Neither I nor any family member has any interest or connection to this realty firm

Hi Summermove!

If you want good advice I would like to say if you are moving you should find a buyers agent to assist you with the process. Especially since you are not familiar with RI. I used this girl who specializes in several areas in RI and she is actually very well known in RI. She didnt charge me anything when she represented me. I was recommended to her by my best friend who used her to buy a new construction home. I believe she owns a company right now and she works specifically with buyers. I would have to say we looked at dozens of houses and she never once pressured me, if anything she would pick apart the houses to make sure I was making a careful decision. She told me to be as picky as I wanted because it is probably the largest most important purchase I will ever make. Also she was a wealth of knowledge when it came to the best areas, and why certain houses would be great for re-sale. After about 20 houses later, we weighed the pros and cons and made a decision! She negotiated on my behalf and I would have to say I got a great deal in a high market at the time. I still hear people talk about her and I am happy with my home. I got all the repairs I wanted, and closing costs paid for! She worked around my schedule and made the whole transaction stress free. Anyway, we found a house in Warwick and if you want I can give you her info. Her name is Leann. I always butcher the last name so I would rather not say it! Email me if you want her cell phone number.

If you don't use her, use someone, its worth it! And BEST of luck to you!

Jessica

I don't know how much we can post about other sites here (not a rule breaker by nature) but the entire RI multiple listing service is available at riliving dot com.

Oops looks like that has already been mentioned. The top agents in South County(Washington County) are with Lila Delman and Remax.

Hi - welcome to Rhode Island. Barrington RI (where we are) is right on the beach and has the best schools in the state).
Many tennis clubs, pool clubs and beaches right on your doorstep. You can walk to downtown Barrington for shopping, bicycle on our our bicycletrail to Bristol or Providence. Barrington has a great feel - you are in suburbia - yet only 10 mins from Providence. It's safe here and the schools, again, are outstanding.
Email me if you have any questions. tepps2@yahoo.com
