Default Typical rental cost for Newport?

Hi, family are planning summer vacation...so just wondering what the avg. cost for a 1 week rental in July might be for Newport? We would be looking for something close to the beach.
thanks!

you're probably looking at 2-3K depending how close to the beach, how many bedrooms, etc.

There are about 6 different neighborhoods in the Newport/Middletown area that you might consider. what kind of space do you need? parking is a huge issue as well, and will cost quite a bit more. there are quiet areas and bustling areas. there is 1st beach in newport, and 2nd (the best family beach in my opinion) beach in Middletown.

Well, we would be driving to Newport for the week of vacation. I guess we'd need 3 bedroom...or something that can sleep 6-8 people.
Thanks for the previous reply...2-3K is the ballpark, then I know what we're dealing with for vacation costs!

Default FYI: Weekly rentals are illegal in newport . . .

. . . and they've been starting to crack down on them the last few years.

Holy cow! No wonder I had a hard time when looking for a weekly rental in Newport! Do you know why they are illegal?

Kanihoncho,

Weekly rentals are illegal??? Do you have the city code on this??
What I find is that landlords have to register the house with the city as a "guest house" in order to rent by the week. Has this been revoked???

Newport has had a lot of problems with vacationing tenants creating big noise and nuisance headaches for permanent residents in the neighborhoods- that would be the general concern.
